V.  The Five Legions

Each Legion has unique combat abilities and exploration utilities. Mastering all five is essential for S+ rank.

Sword Legion

 (Balanced · Speed)

Acquired: File 06 Combat: High-speed slash combos; wide hit range; excels at rapid Bind setups Exploration: Cut barriers and wires; slash ropes to open paths

Arrow Legion

 (Ranged · Precision)

Arm Legion

 (Power · Utility)

Acquired: File 03 Combat: Heavy punches with massive stagger; can grab and throw enemies Exploration: Lift heavy objects; move large obstacles; hover over hazardous terrain

Beast Legion

 (Speed · Tracking)

Acquired: File 04 Combat: High-speed multi-hit attacks; strong interrupt pressure; great at breaking guard Exploration: Ride for fast travel; track scent trails; dig underground passages

Axe Legion

 (Heavy · AoE)

Acquired: File 07 Combat: Massive AoE damage; can deploy a Shield to block attacks; destroys armored enemies Exploration: Break reinforced walls; push large cargo blocks

Legion Management Tips

• Legion Gauge: The energy bar that depletes while your Legion is summoned. Fully depleted = Legion recalled automatically. Recharges when not summoned.

• Legion Arts: Powerful special moves for each Legion, triggered with R + direction. Each has a cooldown. Use these to generate large score multipliers.

• Bind: Wrap the Astral Chain around an enemy to immobilize them. Fundamental to combos and score generation.

• Sync Attack: Triggered when both you and your Legion attack simultaneously. Deals bonus damage and adds significant score. Over 75 unique combinations exist across all Legions.

• Axe Legion Shield: Deploy a protective energy barrier that blocks Chimera projectiles and melee strikes. Extremely useful in later Files.

• Beast Legion Ride: Mount the Beast Legion for rapid traversal. Also used in certain timed exploration sequences.

VI.  Combat System

⛓️ Bind

Wrap the Astral Chain around an enemy by circling them, or aim the chain to intercept movement. Bound enemies are immobilized and highly vulnerable.

  • Initiate combos by Binding first

  • Multiple Binds in one battle boost score significantly

  • Bind is required to trigger certain Legion Arts

Recommended Combo Rotation

1. Summon Sword Legion → Bind enemy > Immobilize; set up combo

2. Sword Legion Arts → Sync Attack > Heavy burst + Chic Move

3. Switch to Arrow Legion → charged Legion Arts > Legion type variety bonus + score

4. Bind second enemy with Arrow Legion chain > Multi-Bind bonus

5. Switch to Axe Legion → Shield → counter-attack > Shield counter Chic Move

6. Switch to Beast Legion → Ride dash → Sync Attack finish > Maximum Chic Move stacking

Key Principle: Key Principle: Never stay on one Legion for the entire fight. Rotating through multiple Legions is the single most effective way to stack Chic Moves and reach S+ rank.

VII.  Ranking System & S+ Guide

Each Red Case (combat scenario) awards a letter rank from D to S+ based on your cumulative score. Higher ranks unlock bonus rewards and count toward overall File evaluation.

• Rank D: 0 – 1,999

• Rank C: 2,000 – 3,999

• Rank B: 4,000 – 5,999

• Rank A: 6,000 – 7,999

• Rank S: 8,000 – 9,999

• Rank S+: 10,000+

Score Multipliers

• No-damage clear (full combat): +5,000 pts

• Chic Move (per instance): +300 – 800 pts

• Sync Attack (per instance): +200 – 500 pts

• Bind (per use): +150 – 300 pts

• Legion Arts (per use): +200 – 400 pts

• Weapon type variety: Multiplier bonus

• Legion type variety: Multiplier bonus

• Using AED (revival): No penalty — does not reduce score

WARNING: ⚠️ File 08 — “Peace”: The Notoriously Difficult File The contamination collection sequence requires maintaining an unbroken combo throughout the entire area. Any combo break = major score loss. The Lappy Dance mini-game is graded separately and can be a stumbling block — practice the full rhythm pattern before committing.

WARNING: ⚠️ File 09 — Motorcycle Chase Sequence This unique on-rails section awards +5,000 points for a no-damage clear. Enemies telegraph their attacks — memorize the pattern across 2–3 attempts. A clean run here almost guarantees S+ for the full File.

• General S+ Strategy:

• ① Keep every Legion type in rotation — variety multiplier is massive

• ② Prioritize Bind → Sync Attack openers on every encounter

• ③ Use Legion Arts the moment they come off cooldown

• ④ Don’t fear taking damage — the AED penalty is zero; play aggressively

• ⑤ The passcode for the Headquarters computer is 1125 (the twins’ birthdate)
